Cardiff Council Extend Contract

Around this time last year we published a press release announcing the Cardiff City Council confidential paper waste tender being awarded to ELITE Paper Solutions, which outlined to dispose of more than 70,000kg of confidential waste from 70 sites which the council produces each year. 12 months on, and the contract has gone amazingly! After tendering, we’ve now successfully won an additional contact with Cardiff Council which was announced last month. On Friday 6th December 2019, ELITE Paper Solutions staff members Adam & Ian travelled to London for the annual SME National Awards held at Wembley Stadium. With over 200 organisation across the UK attending the event as finalists in over 20 different categories. EPS attended the event for their very first time as finalists for the ‘Community Business of the Year’. Funding Received from Welsh Government

We are absolutely delighted to announce that we’ve been successful in the Welsh Governments #FoundationalEconomy challenge Fund. We will receive £85,190 in funding. Our plan is to work with public sector stakeholders to change procurement practices and place more contracts with social enterprises that support those furthest from the labour market. The Foundational Economy Challenge Fund is supporting a series of experimental projects that will support the foundational economy. The fund’s budget is now over £4.5m. Health Board demonstrates community commitment

ELITE Paper Solutions, a Social Enterprise based in Merthyr Tydfil, was appointed in December 2018 by Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Hospital Board, to collect, destroy and recycle, confidential waste documents across all of their sites, estimated at around 250 tonnes of paper per year. The social enterprise offers training and employment opportunities to people with disabilities or those experiencing disadvantage, in South Wales. The aim of the social enterprise is to be a progressive intermediate labour market resource, where organisations can refer individuals for support and vocational development, which will aid their future transition to employment, volunteering or further learning

Deputy Minister Visits EPS to Discuss New Contract

Following EPS being awarded a contract with Transport for Wales, the Deputy Minister for Economy and Transport, Lee Waters visited our site 2nd May 2019. TfW is awarding contracts to social enterprises within Wales, due to the positive impact they have within communities. They are at the beginning of an exciting journey which will see over £5 billion invested in Wales’ transport network.
