Health Board demonstrates community commitment

ELITE Paper Solutions, a Social Enterprise based in Merthyr Tydfil, was appointed in December 2018 by Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Hospital Board, to collect, destroy and recycle, confidential waste documents across all of their sites, estimated at around 250 tonnes of paper per year. The social enterprise offers training and employment opportunities to people with disabilities or those experiencing disadvantage, in South Wales. The aim of the social enterprise is to be a progressive intermediate labour market resource, where organisations can refer individuals for support and vocational development, which will aid their future transition to employment, volunteering or further learning

Deputy Minister Visits EPS to Discuss New Contract

Following EPS being awarded a contract with Transport for Wales, the Deputy Minister for Economy and Transport, Lee Waters visited our site 2nd May 2019. TfW is awarding contracts to social enterprises within Wales, due to the positive impact they have within communities. They are at the beginning of an exciting journey which will see over £5 billion invested in Wales’ transport network. ELITE Recycling Operative Goes Back to School to Share Success

Josh O’Leary, from Tredegar is encouraging pupils from his former secondary school to consider apprenticeships as a chosen career path. Josh is a Recycling Operative at ELITE Paper Solutions, he attended Bishop Hedley RC High School until he was 16 years old. He wanted to stay in the local area and knew he wanted to gain professional qualifications. Josh struggled with the traditional classroom learning, so after leaving school he looked into more practical ways to gain qualifications. Cardiff chooses ELITE for confidential waste collections

Cardiff Council has appointed EPS as their new provider to dispose of more than 70,000kg of confidential waste it produces each year. Following a successful tender exercise, ELITE Paper Solutions, has been appointed to collect confidential waste documents from more than 75 sites throughout the city of Cardiff including schools, community hubs and Council offices. The return of Luke O’Neill!

It’s that time again, where we’d like to share a journey of one of our staff members, telling their story about working at ELITE. Our journey today is with Luke O’Neill, who originally joined ELITE back in 2015, being one of the first volunteers to walk through our doors. Luke was a shy individual, and came to us low on confidence. Quickly progressing into an important team member, Luke was given a 16-hour a week contract after just 6 weeks as a volunteer.
