Funding Received from Welsh Government

We are absolutely delighted to announce that we’ve been successful in the Welsh Governments #FoundationalEconomy challenge Fund. We will receive £85,190 in funding.

Our plan is to work with public sector stakeholders to change procurement practices and place more contracts with social enterprises that support those furthest from the labour market.

The Foundational Economy Challenge Fund is supporting a series of experimental projects that will support the foundational economy. The fund’s budget is now over £4.5m. This includes £2.4m from the Valleys Taskforce budget, specifically ring-fenced for projects in the Valleys Taskforce area. Welsh Government have pulled together a group of experts from a range of sectors to drive the agenda forward.

Our new £4.5m fund will test innovative ways of supporting and growing our foundational economy so that we can spread good practice right across Wales. I want it to fund experimental projects that are collaborative and innovative, test which Governmental interventions works best and challenge the conventional ways of doing things.
